ITS A WRAP!

dodgergame.jpg

Thank you for your patience while I was filming the pilot. I had a great experience. Hopefully, the love I have for the rest of the cast will translate into a fun and funny pilot to which ABC will respond positively. We have a working title. It’s not the absolute, definite title yet but the working title is: Single With Parents.

Right before we started filming, I took the cast and the producers/writers to a Dodgers game. It worked out perfectly that I had a suite that night (I get four suites a year as part of my ticket package). We had a great time and it was lovely to be able to share my passion of baseball with everyone. I wanted to share this picture of Annie Potts, Beau Bridges and me at the game.

By the way, Beau is quite the Dodgers fan. In fact, when we were shooting, if there was a game going on, I would keep tabs of the score on my iPhone and would ask Beau if he wanted the score. He would plug his ears and say, “DON’T TELL ME!!! SHHH. I am TiVoing it!”

timrussert.jpgSo much has happened in the world of baseball and the Dodgers since my last post that I don’t even know where to begin. The firing of Willie Randolph (not sure how I feel about that) and John McLaren; Bud Selig saying that “instant replay” in baseball is inevitable (booooo!); Brad Penny on the DL (I wish you a speedy recovery, Brad); Hiroki Kuroda has tendinitis; the news that Raffi won’t be back until after All-Star break; and the extremely sad news that the Baseball Hall Of Fame lost a beloved board member with the passing of the extraordinary Tim Russert. In this picture, he was moderating the President of Red Sox Nation candidate debates last year in Boston. I bet he’s watching Jackie, Roberto, Babe, all the greats, up there in heaven’s ballpark. Your insight will be missed, Mr. Russert.

Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa

Hi,

Single with Parents… sounds interesting. I wish I could see the games. I remember chuck asked me once if I ever followed baseball. Chuck was a funny guy. If that was his real name.

G

Bonsoir ma belle,

Thank your for the extraordinary reports and opinion Tim, politics on TV will never be the same !

?Death ain’t nothing but a fastball on the outside corner? August Wilson

I didn?t see a lot of baseball the last 2 weeks either and the few games I saw were not the greatest, I don?t like this roller coaster sensation, up and down, up and down, no constancy at all, and all those injuries don?t help right ?!

I have been a little unfaithful to baseball lately (pardon), my obsession for soccer is taking the lead when there is a big competition like the EURO going on. And with a Dutch boss, French co-workers and a half Belgian-German soccer fanatic like myself, it?s makes it more exciting to watch.

Good luck with the pilot, sounds like fun, now you can rest before you start filming the first season ;-)))))

PS : I got the black satin jacket the other day, OK I?m a north European giant but the XL jacket almost fits my six year old niece Juliette, please…

Tembrasse fort,

Have a great weekend sweetie

Anne

Hi,
Hope your off on easy street for awhile. Am more familiar with Beau and Annie than the rest of the cast. My feeling is that the ensemble works. For an extra title suggestion, something like Getting It Together came to mind. Lou’s Dilemma never did sound right. You know you would either be lead-in to According To Jim, if not following, for a comedy night?
Gettin’ it Together.
Hey, you’ve released me from that spell, haven’t you?

Hey Alyssa

Congratulations on finishing the pilot It sounds like it will be a wonderful show I’m sure ABC will pick it up. Thank you for the great pic of your castmates and you I love it.

I agree about instant replay (BOOOOOOOOO)!

Love
Gary

Hey Alyssa,
It’s wonderful to hear from you. I always get so excited when I go to the CL boards and read that you’ve posted a new mlb blog. (Is that weird?) Ha, well what can I say, I’m a big fan :] No, I’m your BIGGEST fan….yes, without a doubt. In fact, I never really followed baseball until I realized what a crazed Dodgers fan you are. I mean before, I went to a few of my hometown games (KC Royals) but now I watch baseball all the time! Especially Dodgers games. Well anyways, Congrats again on your pilot, and on completing it. We are all pulling for you and hoping, hoping, hopinggg that ABC picks it up!
Lots of love<3
Your girl,
Katlyn

I like the title for the new show. I really hope ABC picks this show up. The way they fired the Mets manager Wille Randolph really wasn’t professional, they could have waited till the team came back to NY. Take care and thanks for keeping us updated.

Laronda

Ms. Milano,

So I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not much of a baseball fan, and the only reason I’m here is because of you. (Shame on me, I know, I know.) But what’s a girl to do? I mean, I’ve been a “fan” of yours since I was a kid. I grew up watching YOU grow up. And look at you now..you went from Samantha on Who’s the boss, to Pheobe on Charmed, (Not to mention all the other roles you’ve played) And to this wonderful person who cares so much about others….and an insane Dodger’s fan. Anyways, I guess my only question for you is: Do you actually read all of our comments?

I guess we will find out when/if you answer to this or not.
Bye for now

As a long-time yankee fan, and always a willie randolph fan, i was by definition a mets hater. But I rooted for willie and if the mets happened to do well bc of it, so be it. I felt horrible for him when the mets collapsed at the end of last year. And I feel bad for him now. In life, things happen. Joe Torre was a washed up manager prior to his run with the yankees. I know you are hoping he’ll help you guys in LA, but it seems that no miracles of late. Hopefully, someone will pick him up at the end of this year. He’s a true champion and surely there is a place for him that is a good fit. The mets showed true classlessness in how they opted to fire him. He deserved better.

As to replay, I am a fan of anything that makes the game fair. In football, replay has augmented not replaced the human factor. There is nothing worse than having the wrong team win. Or have a home run taken away bc of a poor viewing angle. I think in a limited fashion replay will be beneficial. It is about fairness.

Good luck with your pilot. I hope SAG doesn’t need to strike, but everybody deserves a cut of the internet pie. I’m thinking that your castmates want you on board for any project that goes through to air…your track record is pretty good. I’m thinking another 8 years?

-i

PS I am truly upset at Tim Russert’s passing. I DVRd ‘meet the press’ because nowhere else was there a truly intelligent, unbiased discussion of politics. Our country has lost a true patriot.

Congrats on finishing the pilot!! Let?s hope the AMPTP doesn?t dirty-deal with SAG the way they did with the WGA and force a strike so ABC can order it to series. Great script, great cast, great companion for Samantha Who? ? seems like a no-brainer. You?re coming back to the season at a great moment ? it feels like once again, playing in Cincinnati may be creating some much-needed momentum. Remember after we were there in April? We went on an 11-2 run ? good times, until Furcal got hurt on May 6, causing us to… well, you know. But now the bats seem to be getting hot again, and Geoff Stults ? who I thought played really well in his games last season and was brilliant today against the Reds (three runs, only one of which was earned, were the result of Kent?s fluky error in the 7th combined with our unfortunate habit of not being able to have the offense, the starting pitcher, and the bullpen all be awesome in the same game) ? should be added to the starting rotation while we figure out what?s up with Penny and Kuroda, especially because there?s always the potential that at least one of them will have an injury that turns out to be far more serious (and mysterious) than originally thought, like, say, Nomar, or Raffy, or Jones, or Gary Bennett (which, whatever, Ardoin was playing great in Spring Training, he should?ve been up here since the beginning of the season), or Abreu (remember him?), or Schmidt… for instance.

Hi Alyssa,

Thank you for keeping us updated. I don’t know why but I feel too much sorrow for this person who died and I didn’t even watch his show. Good luck with the pilot being picked up. Don’t worry about the Dodgers they will be ok. The season isn’t even half way over yet and they are still only a few games out of first place. They’re just waiting to make their move when it will really count.

love
Joe

Alyssa,
In addition to the person a few comments above me, I would have to inquire the same thing. Do you actually read all our comments?
Well anyways, just wondering…I love you and your work though. Keep it up. Go Blue.

Alyssa I like the “title” of your new pilot. I hope it gets picked up by the network.

Yes Tim Russert will be missed.

I’m not sure how I feel about instant replay in baseball. I can see both the pros and cons.

Continue to enjoy your baseball & get some rest also.

Reesa

hey Alyssa

Good to hear from you again!

Hi Alyssa,
Glad to see an update and congrats on wrapping the pilot -fingers crossed! ABC is the strongest network right now (I think) so I hope it works out. Also thanks for the kind words about Tim Russert. During the Meet the Press tribute ep they talked a few times about his total love of baseball.

Welcome back and can you believe we seem to be hanging on the 2nd place pretty well?!

Go Blue,
Jill

Annie Potts looks tweaked/

Congratulations on wrapping your new pilot, Alyssa!🙂 I’m glad that you and your television family had fun with the Dodgers. Yesterday our family was out of town at our version of the ballpark- the amusement park. And as usual my 93-year-old grandmother joined us on a few of the rides (though she no longer does the 20-story freefall). And our encounters with the “Ice Cream of Past at Prices of the Future” brought back stories from my grandmother’s youth about how there once was a time when Dippin’ Dots were only $39.95 a scoop. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Tim Russert and to the world he leaves behind. I hope your new show is a hit, and I can’t wait to hear from you again, Alyssa!🙂 PS- Do you think anyone from Dippin’ Dots reads any of this? If MLB and Six Flags teamed up to request Dippin’ Dots to release a new “Buffalo Wing” flavor, would you help to design a T-shirt to commemorate the occasion? There are a lot of directions it could take, but I’m thinking “My friends and family went to the baseball stadium and then the amusement park, and all they got for me was this T-shirt describing how MLB and Six Flags talked Dippin’ Dots into making a buffalo-flavored dot that sent me to the hospital. Can I be adopted?”

Alyssa, i can feel for you. The Dodgers are having a tough season. 2nd place is still amazing though (even for the NL West LOL)!
Instant replay-BAD IDEA!
As a Mets fan, i hated to see Willie go, but it was time for a change. He lost his team a long time ago. Hopefully, Jerry can turn them around.
Tim Russert will be missed. Even if you didn’t agree with him, he was still a smart guy. Baseball has lost a great fan.
Good luck with your pilot.
Till next time,
Alvin

Hey again, Lyssita. Long time, no see. Well, at least I stopped laughing about those Buffalo dots. I just heard on the local news that the Indians at the moment are in the middle of their first ever game at Dodger Stadium. So I just wanted to wish for you that they lose, or at least don’t win by very much, or tie, or get rained out, or whatever is most Los Clevelandish of the two teams to do. Perhaps some sort of cancellation due to combined thunderstorms and seismic activity. At any rate, I hope you have fun with the game. And may the best team win. And Dippin’ Dots.

Well, I just got back from my first games of this baseball season. Go Royals. Sadly my boys lost tonight to the SF Giants, so I’m wishing them good luck in tomorrows game. I must say this was the best game I think I haveever been to. I got to sit 4 seats behind the Royals dugout!!! It was so exciting. The only downer was a guy two rows back who had his fair share of beer and was letting everyone know, very loudly. But eve that guy couldn’t damper this game. We had the biggest fireworks display Kansas City has ever seen! And it was amazing! My boys were having some trouble with our pitchers tonight, but it was still a good game. I just wantedto post about my amazing baseball experience tonight, I’m still just so happy. I swear, there is something about being at that baseball field that just makes me feel amazing!

I hope your new show does well Alyssa, I will deff. be watching for it.

I love that pic. of you, it’s so cute. You can just see all joy and excitment on your face.

*Brooke*

Hey again, Alyssa. It looks like the perfect outcome to last night’s game. If you Google “Indians Dodgers” and follow the first link, you’ll arrive at the Associated Press / Google page with an informative recap. The title says that the Indians win 5-4 while the first line of the article says that they win 6-4. If only the article were longer, I think the Indians could have had a blowout. At any rate, due to the score discrepancy I think the Dodgers should be given the win. Or perhaps the teams should adopt my rules of “Double Baseball” and end the event by flipping a coin to assign the scores to the teams. Have a great weekend, Lyssita! -Love, Steve

Hi Alyssa,

Congrats on your pilot! I hope it gets selected by a network. Add John Gibbons to the list of ex-managers you mentioned. Randolph’s firing was inevitable but the way it was handled was embarrassing to baseball (the Mets organization itself is beyond embarrassment at this point). John McLaren was like a caged animal in postgame press talks in his waning weeks. The Mariners have made so many poor personnel decisions (Sexson, Beltre, and even Bedard have all dissapointed). The fired McLaren says that tension and jealousy amongst players tore the team apart. He said there is a division between pitchers and hitters.

What do you think of the SI poll that ranks Derek Jeter as the most overrated player in MLB by a vote of players polled? I disagree with that – Jeter has limited range at shortstop but is a very good/clutch player overall. Barry Zito was a surprise in the second spot in the poll – he should have ranked first as most overrated. No one has let his teammates and fans down more than Zito this year. His free agent signing two years has been the biggest bust in memory. Can you imagine what it would be like if he had signed in New York and pitched like this?

J.D. Drew has been on a tear in Boston. It has been suggested that he warrants his own rolling rally (a reference to the World Champion Celtics’ parade). Drew had a rough time in Boston most of last year, but has been stellar this year (and produced in last year’s post season championship drive). He’s the hottest hitter in baseball this month – picking it up when the Red Sox really need him to.

I think instant replay limited to fair/foul home runs is worth a shot. I never advocated this before but after seeing three blatantly blown calls within a week, I think MLB had to address it. Lou Piniella is against it, being a traditionalist. Maybe he’s right – human error is part of baseball, but I think the bottom line is to get the call right. Let’s see what happens. Overall, the umpires do an exemplary job.

All the best,

Jim

Hi Alyssa,
I thought that s cal heat wave was going to heat up your dodgers. 91 degrees at games end (thats a little warm). And it looked like the dodgers were going to pull it out in the 9th, only to have saito lose it in the 10th. How frustrating is that? UGHH… What is it going to take to get your dodgers going? (A BIG STICK) Anyhow, they’re not that far out of first. But I want to see your dodgers in the playoffs, along with my “cubbies”.
I’m waiting for the day when your new series comes on the television and I know that day will come. It just shows the kind of person that you are, that you have all of the cast out to a game. You bring people together…
As for instant replay (just HR calls), blame all of these new ballparks. With all of these different outfield walls, with all their quirky angles, different heights, and fans right on top of them. Then when you have some umpires that are so out-of-shape and lazy. That they don’t show any type of “hustle”, just to try and get a call right. I won’t name any names, but one just wants to “hawk” his country music cd’s. UGHH…. I think Steve’s 93 year old grandmother could probably put up a good race with him. Is it too hard for just one umpire to tell if a ball’s been trapped or not? I don’t think so and I don’t want instant replay.
Alyssa, get those dodgers winning. Stay safe, cool, and take care of yourself. And as Uncle Gary says: Alyssa you give this world hope.
All the best to you Alyssa,
Curt

Hi sweetie, how u doin’😛 tnx for postin’ that cute pic😛 one of the reasons I’m in love with u, is ur sweet smile… Hey the next time u wanna take someone to a Dodger game, I’m here… u can take me wherever u want lol
I’m the biggest fan of the biggest Dodger fan lol…
Waz ap with the pilot, I hope it to get picked up :))))
Tnx for posting baby❤ I LOVE YOU!!! hugs n kisses
once again… I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!😛

Hey Alyssa, me again (cub fan curt)
I seem to keep coming back… I agree with the last comment, your smile :}….
Lose in 11 innings, UGHH… Pitchers duel and CC hits a HR. I do like a pitcher that does take a swing at the ball. CC, Zambrano (now DL’ed – UGHH…) Nice effort by Chan Ho. Read where Furcal and Jones will soon be back. That should help… My Ryan Sandberg led Peoria chiefs are 30-40 on the year. Oh well, it’s only class A ball.
Alyssa, stay cool and keep smiling…
Bye Alyssa, Curt
Ps- Beat those white sox next week (If you go to any of those games, give a “hand” to Jim Thome. Another one of the “good people” like you. He grew up around here (peoria) and his father still lives here. He will probably only PH, since their is no DH. Slight chance that he will play first base). I also liked Beau’s work on EARL…. BYe…Keep Bloggin Alyssa :}

Hello Alyssa,

I heard about your blog when listening to the Cub-Dodger game recently. Ron Santo, the legendary Cub 3rd baseman is the color man on radio, is a big fan of yours (he winds up mentioning you at least once a series. There’s a funny story about how he messed up your name during the broadcast calling you Alyssa Romano. Pat Hughes his sidekick chirped “You a big fan of hers Ronnie”? And Ron goes “Oh Yeah”. About 5 pitches he later he says “Did I say Alyssa Romano?” “Yeah, Ronnie you did” Pat replies. “Why does this ALWAYS happen to me”? “Happens to the best of ’em Ronnie” Pat chirped.).

Anyway, this year Ronnie was talking about your blog and how he reads it from time to time. So, I thought about stopping by this morning after savoring a Cub win over the cross town rival White Sox. I must say, I’m impressed. Not so much that you’re a woman who loves baseball (which is great), but that you take time out of your busy schedule to keep up your blog.

BTW: I’m with you on the Instant Replay thing. I wrote an article about this last week and I think there’s an easier solution to the problem: get rid of all those goofy yellow lines!!! It’s not a homer until it LEAVES the yard (or it’s an inside the parker). End of story! No need to slow the game down.

Hi Alyssa,
That is so cool that you got to take them to the game and in a suite too. Single with parents. that is a funny name. I am glad that you are back to being able to watch the game. I thought the Tvio thing was funny.
Have fun and remember to laugh at life, cause it is life too.
Forever Peace,
McCollonough Ceili

Alyssa:

Another week of baseball…I know it’s early but the experts say that the Blue has a better chance of getting to the playoffs then the Yankees, that kind of made my day…..Tim Russert will be missed….Instant replay..Ahhh when did common sense leave this continent. There have been far to many blatant errors this year so far and it can’t be allowed to go on and possibly affect September or post season play….Enjoy the stretch at home for the next week…I’ve been listening to the Cubs and White Sox games to try and get a handle on the White Sox and all I can figure out is the fact that these two teams really dislike each other and the Cubs are some kind of scary…Live the Moment…..Mort

Congrats on wrapping the pilot, let’s hope ABC responds in a positive manner and picks it up. Single With Parents is that the antithesis of the old sitcom Married With Children?

The firing of Willie Randolph while somewhat justifiable the manner in which it was done is nothing short of a debacle by the Mets upper management and ownership.

Baseball has been “professional” for almost 140 years (referring to the Cincinnati Red Stockings), I am sure that during that time there has been incalculable bad calls. That being said, there does not need to be instant replay. Sure it might start off as “only on homerun calls”, but it won’t stay there it will invade into other parts of the game. That Mr. Selig is the inevitable part.

Dodgers and the DL (could be a TV series of its own this year), while we as Dodgers fan wish them a speedy recovery it is taking a toll about 70 million on the DL at last count. SO get better soon Kuroda, Penny, Schmidt, Furcal, Garciaparra and Jones, we need you and can win the NL west with your return. Getting these players back around or after the all-star break will be like making trades without having to give anything up and give team BLUE a big boost.

The passing of Tim Russert was tragic to say the least. “Big Russ and Me” and “Wisdom of Our Fathers: Lessons and Letters from Daughters and Sons” weren’t just vanity projects by a guy with high name recognition; they were heartfelt meditations on the importance of work and family in a world that sometimes forgets about the gratification of physical labor and the powerful bonds that link parents and children. To this day they are the best gift I have given to my father, with certain chapters and passages marked to say things I couldn’t find the words for. My apologies to all for the length of this post, but today we lost another baseball fan in George Carlin, here is a sample of his work that you may or may not have seen before: Baseball and Football –

Baseball is different from any other sport, very different. For instance, in most sports you score points or goals; in baseball you score runs. In most sports the ball, or object, is put in play by the offensive team; in baseball the defensive team puts the ball in play, and only the defense is allowed to touch the ball. In fact, in baseball if an offensive player touches the ball intentionally, he’s out; sometimes unintentionally, he’s out.

Also: in football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and all sports played with a ball, you score with the ball and in baseball the ball prevents you from scoring.

In most sports the team is run by a coach; in baseball the team is run by a manager. And only in baseball does the manager or coach wear the same clothing the players do. If you’d ever seen John Madden in his Oakland Raiders uniform, you’d know the reason for this custom.

Now, I’ve mentioned football. Baseball & football are the two most popular spectator sports in this country. And as such, it seems they ought to be able to tell us something about ourselves and our values.

I enjoy comparing baseball and football:

Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game.
Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle.

Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park!
Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium.

Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life.
Football begins in the fall, when everything’s dying.

In football you wear a helmet.
In baseball you wear a cap.

Football is concerned with downs – what down is it?
Baseball is concerned with ups – who’s up?

In football you receive a penalty.
In baseball you make an error.

In football the specialist comes in to kick.
In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody.

Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting and unnecessary roughness.
Baseball has the sacrifice.

Football is played in any kind of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog…
In baseball, if it rains, we don’t go out to play.

Baseball has the seventh inning stretch.
Football has the two minute warning.

Baseball has no time limit: we don’t know when it’s gonna end – might have extra innings.
Football is rigidly timed, and it will end even if we’ve got to go to sudden death.

In baseball, during the game, in the stands, there’s kind of a picnic feeling; emotions may run high or low, but there’s not too much unpleasantness.
In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you’re capable of taking the life of a fellow human being.

And finally, the objectives of the two games are completely different:

In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy’s defensive line.

In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! – I hope I’ll be safe at home!
John

Hey Bloggers, Dodgers Fans and Single with Parents Cast:

Will check out what I can find on Single with Parents pilot on the web. What I say is Alyssa has big talent in comedy and I’ve always said comedy is what she does best. Really hope this Pilot gets accepted because I can use some laughs. Thanks for the info Alyssa, you look great in the pictures. I would never want my picture taken next to you because it would be like Beauty and the Beast. You only get one guess who the beauty is.

I did not know Tim Russert was on the Board for Hall? He was a positive influence within society and will be missed sorely.

What I’m dieing to say is Ozzie G. (Manager White Sox) showed up to Wrigley with his poddy mouth going full bore. Ozzie said Wrigley smelled like number one (I agree sorta with that one) and had rats the size of pigs in the batting cage! I take offense to the pig comment! Ozzie needs to stay on the south side where his brand of nonsense makes sense cuz he’s a piece of work. Anyway, Cubs sweep Sox, my broom works fine.

Thanks AJM for stopping back. Let me know when you score your TV show cuz you will score just matter of when.

Hi Alyssa,
I have baseball questions for you. or who ever can answer them I thought this whould be a good place to ask them, since you know all there is to know about baseball.
question 1. what is the diffrence between the to leagues.
question 2. what dose it mean when someone tells a ball player that they are on deck.
question 3. is Touch going to design any outfits for the All Star Game.
I hope you are enjoying a break from work and are catching up on your baseball.
Love, Makayla

Ok, hi Alyssa, this is me, the annoying German. I know, I told you, that I quit writing, well I don’t care, I want to say something.
Not about Baseball, I follow, but still do not understand enough to talk about. Regarding soccer Germany is good on the way to win the EM. And the Boys deserve it.
Not about your pilot: I am curious and I look forward to it and I will be devastated if I don’t get to see it (sort of : I am still waiting to see “Reinventing the Wheelers”) and this will be particularly great for me, because except of you I love Beau Bridges too.
Absolutely not for the iPhone. For a German this is a reason to stay strong and not writing to you.***** this snobby apple **** **** it **** it **** it!!!!!!
The reason is I want to say: I am so happy Obama made it candidate!!!!!
If he becomes president he is the type of guy who has the capability to make the world a better place to live. And he has the guts to achieve it!

No instant replay for baseball. I agree with the post that says the ball has to leave the yard. I can’t think of any one play in any sport that’s more exciting to see than a home run. But there’s nothing worse than one that bangs off the yellow line on the wall in some parks. That’s not a homer. That’s whatever you get out of it when you’re hightailing it around the bases.
Just took on a part time job as an usher at a minor league park in the Class A Penn-Yan League. Best job I ever had in my life. Scary, eh? Not a sitcom but it’s fun. There’s nothing like going to the park every night and watching a game. It’s not “the show” but it’s great. Right on top of the field dodging foul balls. Gotta love it. I even get to do the cha cha on the dugout with the fans between innings. Nothing like the minor leagues. Chicken speidies, t-shirts, beach balls via slingshot being thrown into the crowd. America, what a country.

I don’t see what’s wrong with instant replay. Let the umps get the call right. The 1985 Cardinals would appreciate it.

Patriot,

Just to be clear, the current Instant Replay as proposed would only be for “boundary calls”. The 1985 Cardinals would still have to live with that bad call. Not that I shed any tears over that. LOL!

I really don’t want to get myself in trouble… oh wait, I may already be in trouble, so…

I have to disagree on instant replay. Baseball is far behind the technology curve, and that caused a lot of the problems it’s dealing with now. Technology is changing the game, for good or for ill, and Selig’s gotta try to make up a huge gap.

Good luck with the pilot!

One other thing: Do you have any spare vibes for a novel that returned to the market when the publisher who bought it folded?

Hi Alyssa,
Another week and your dodgers are only 2.5 games out of first. With Furcal, Jones, and Nomar about to go to rehab games in vegas. With their return, will that get the dodgers going? Alyssa, if you were the dodger gm: what would you do? Make a trade or two or go with what you have. I’m interested in what path you would take and I really do think you would make a fine gm.
My cubbies just can’t shake loose from the cards. We win, they win. We lose, they lose. Injuries are taking their toll on the cubs now and we play st louis next weekend. Plus the brewers have been winning too.
Alyssa, keep bloggin when you have the time. I really like your thoughts on the dodgers, baseball, and the world.
Til next time, Curt (go cubs go…)
ps. Alyssa, that was a really nice picture of you and your castmates.

Alyssa, me again…
Dodgers get no-hit and still win the game. How freaking cool is that? If you were there and witnessed it, it’s a rarity. My cubbies lost a game on their lead and ANGST is starting to set in…
Later Alyssa….You are the greatest

Alyssa,

Congrats on the new show and my god is Annie Potts still hot or what, I just watched Pretty in Pink the other day I remember being in love with her character in that movie.

Your Favorite Angel fan,

Eric
